Shelby Whallon

Teaching Dates: July 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
Pre-Professional Levels 4-6

Shelby is from Upland, CA and started her dance training at Inland Pacific Ballet Academy at age 5. She continued to progress her technique in Southern California, while attending summer programs at School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She was invited to attend Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division program in the fall of 2014, where she trained under the direction of Peter Boal in Seattle, WA. Shelby joined the corps de ballet of Los Angeles Ballet in the summer of 2016 and has remained at LAB for six years. Shelby is also a faculty member of Los Angeles Ballet School, and is the founder of The Encore Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to helping transition professional dancers from their performing careers into higher education opportunities.

Antoinette Wood

Teaching Dates: June 21st, 28th. July 26th. August 2nd and 9th
Pre-Professional Levels 5-6

Antoinette Wood currently attends the University of California, Irvine, as a dance major. She plans to earn a BFA in Performance with a double major in Educational Sciences. Antoinette currently teaches ballet and pointe classes at a studio in her hometown. After her dance career, she hopes to become an Elementary School Teacher while continuing to teach dance.

In late February, Antoinette will perform in her first college show, Dance Visions; co-directed by Molly Lynch, Professor and Department Chair of Dance at UCI and Tong Wang, Associate Professor of Dance. She was cast in Tong Wang’s Tango/Pointe piece “It Takes Two.” She is looking forward to making her debut on the Irvine Barclay Theater’s stage.
